Two friends sat beside a quiet road, in the summer of 2000, watching the sun go down. They understood that the sun was settling because it had done its job of lighting up the earth for the day. Looking at that beautiful sight, they realized that everyone on earth had a purpose to fulfill.
Despite reaching the peak of their political careers and achieving almost everything young boys of their time dreamed of, they found themselves asking, "Is this all there is?"
When destiny calls you in a different direction, you can never truly be content where you are!
Just like a monk leaving behind family and friends in search of truth, the two friends left their homes to pursue a greater purpose in life.
As they traveled across North India, going from place to place, they encountered a familiar issue that resonated deeply with their own experiences growing up. Both hailing from farming families, deeply rooted in the soil, they believed in the value of hard work without conditions.
Their villages needed proper educational infrastructure, with no schools and minimal resources to nurture the potential of young minds. Education primarily took place outdoors, under the shade of a tree, facilitated by the few literate individuals in the community. Career guidance was informal at best, and the cost of studying in the city was prohibitive for most parents, preventing their children from pursuing higher education.
They were determined to transform this situation. They saw the need for improvement in the system, understanding that the youth of the nation possessed tremendous potential that could surpass others if given the right resources and opportunities to flourish.
Their vision was crystal clear, their goal firmly set, and their hearts brimming with enthusiasm. They recognized the purpose of their lives: to elevate educational facilities to a standard that rivaled the best of the time.
Thus, the concept of Chandigarh Engineering Colleges was conceived. Beginning with a modest infrastructure and a small student body, CEC has since evolved into a hallmark of success. Providing quality education accessible to all segments of society is not just a resolution but the very mission of CEC.
