The Bachelor of Technology in Mechanical Engineering (B.Tech. Eligibility Criteria

Candidates who have successfully completed their 10+2 examination from a recognized Board that has received approval from the Central/State Government and is a member of the Council of Boards of School Education (COBSE), New Delhi, with subjects such as Physics, Mathematics, Chemistry, Computer Science, Electronics, Information Technology, Biology, Informatics Practices, Biotechnology, Technical Vocational subjects, Agriculture, Engineering Graphics, Business Studies, or Entrepreneurship

Or,

As long as they have at least a 45% average on a three-year diploma exam from the Punjab State Board of Technical Education & Industrial Training in Chandigarh, the Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology in Longowal (SLIET), or a similar exam from any other recognised State Board of Technical Education, candidates can apply, as long as there are openings in the first year in case people apply late.

Or,

Candidates who have completed a two-year certificate course from Sant Longowal Institute of Engineering and Technology, Longowal (SLIET), are also considered eligible.

(The institute will provide appropriate bridge courses, such as Mathematics, Physics, and Engineering Drawing, to ensure a level playing field and to achieve the desired learning outcomes of the programme for students from diverse educational backgrounds.)
