ABOUT THE DEPARTMENT

One of the premier engineering department of the CGC, Technical Campus, Jhanjeri, Mohali, The Department of civil engineering has been functioning since 2012. The department offers a full time B.E degree course in civil engineering. The Department actively delivers curriculum through well qualified and experienced faculty by interactive means of class room teaching and practical approach.

Apart from academic programs, additional guest lectures, seminars, workshops and Industrial visits are conducted for the students as well as the faculty for professional interaction and to enhance their knowledge and skills.

Our students have won number of prizes in various technical competitions held in various reputed institutes like IIT's, NIT's, PEC etc. Right from its inception, the Department has been doing its best to bring about excellence in academics. The Department of Civil Engineering trained the students technically, socially and morally so that they can be excellently suited to meet the ever changing requirements of Industry.

CLUB OF DEPARTMENT

Civil Engineering Department have student club named as C-CUBE Club. Various activities are being organized by this club. The club organized Industrial Visits for students in various industries like L & T Construction, UltraTech Concrete, Ramjee Concrete, Ambuja Cement, Chandigarh City Centre, TDI etc.

Various Expert Talks were organized from person of industry & academia. Workshops & seminars on recent advancements, latest softwares like REVIT, ANSYS, STAAD PRO, Tips for GATE, IES etc were organized by the club. The C-CUBE club also actively involved in conducting technical, cultural & sports events of the department.

ACHIEVMENTS OF THE CLUB

• The students of the department secured various positions in the merit list of PTU. The students of the department got 1st prize in technical event Concrete Canoe at PEC Chandigarh.
• The 5 th sem students of CE Department have bagged 1 st & 3 rd positions in Technical Fest in Bridge Web & 1st position in Technovation & 3-D Builder at LPU Jalandhar.
• The student of 7th sem got 1 st position in technical events at Thapar in event Chem-o-Rocket & Concrete Cutting. Even in IIT Mandi,
• The students of CE Department got 1 st position in Literary event.The student got 2 nd position at IIT in Technical competition VIADUCT.
• Students of CE department under C Cube club have won first Second Prize at IIT Roorkee in "Trash to Cash" event & in "Logarithm" event respectively.
• In Sports, also the CE Department participate actively & students got 1 gold & 1 silver medal in Weight Lifting, Power Lifting & Best Physique,1 silver & 1 bronze medal in Swimming, 3 bronze medal in Kabaddi at PTU Intercollege competitions.
• The students of CE Department also presented the research paper in IIT Roorkee & won the competition in National Conferenceorganized by ISRO & ISSE at IISER Mohali.
